YOGA NIDRA

Practice Deep Relaxation with "Yogic Sleep"

This guided practice invites you to experience the yoga Nidra state - a "deep sleep state with consciousness retained". Studies have shown that Yoga Nidra may help improve nighttime sleep, reduce stress, improve blood pressure, and assist with hormone regulation.

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the "going-to-sleep" stage, typically induced by a guided meditation.

Reported potential effects and benefits:

  • endogenous dopamine release

  • balance in autonomic nervous system

  • reduction of tension and anxiety

  • reduction of headaches

  • reduction of effects of stress

  • treatment of PTSD symptoms

  • improved self-esteem in students
